Title: ACTMAP Database of Survey Control
Custodian: ACT Planning and Land Authority
Jurisdiction: Australian Capital Territory
Abstract:
One of a series of spatial databases covering the Australian Capital Territory. This data set has been designed to hold the spatial graphical data and some attendant attribute data for survey control marks for the ACT.
ANZLIC search words:
Spatial domain:
Geographic extent name: AUSTRALIAN CAPITAL TERRITORY - ACT - State or Territory - Australia
Note: The format for each Geographic extent name is: Name - Identifier - Category - Jurisdiction (as appropriate) See GEN Register
Beginning date: Not Known
Ending date: Current
Progress: Complete
Maintenance and update frequency: Not Known
Access constraints:
ACTMAP datasets are available to non ACT Government agencies and the private sector on a fee basis. Details of costs can be obtained by phoning the contact numbers.
Lineage:
Data is created from historical and current field surveys. Data is entered into an ORACLE database by survey staff from the Chief Surveyors staff. This data is extracted in a batch process and used to update the graphical database.
Positional accuracy:
All data is held in ACT Co-ordinates which are planar co-ordinates based on a false origin at Mt Stromlo of 200000/600000. These co-ordinates can be converted into other formats if required. The ACT contains three co-ordinate zones: CITY Grid Co-ordinates AGC (Adjusted Grid Co-ordinates) PGC (Preliminary Grid Co-ordinates) Survey control marks are entered into the database to survey accuracy within the co-ordinate zones.
Attribute accuracy:
This database has attribution showing time / date of creation or modification of each entity in the database. All entities will have at least an attribute of 1 July 1994 (the date of initial use of this attribute). Dates after this will indicate the actual time and date of creation of the entity in the database. Attributes in this database include Survey mark type Australian Height Datum Identification number
Logical Consistency:
Data is not topologically structured
Completeness:
100% complete with updates as required
Metadata date: 2004-06-24
