Title: ACTMAP Database of Rural Blocks
Custodian: ACT Planning and Land Authority
Jurisdiction: Australian Capital Territory
Abstract:
One of a series of spatial databases covering the Australian Capital Territory. This data set contains the current and historical boundary information for the rural blocks of the ACT as they actually exist or existed on the ground. It does not show old blocks over which there may still be an existing lease where new boundaries have been created over that leased block
ANZLIC search words:
Spatial domain:
Geographic extent name: AUSTRALIAN CAPITAL TERRITORY - ACT - State or Territory - Australia
Note: The format for each Geographic extent name is: Name - Identifier - Category - Jurisdiction (as appropriate) See GEN Register
Beginning date: Not Known
Ending date: Current
Progress: In Progress
Maintenance and update frequency: Not Known
Access constraints:
ACTMAP datasets are available to non ACT Government agencies and the private sector on a fee basis. Details of costs can be obtained by phoning the contact numbers.
Lineage:
The blocks in this base are a combination of block boundaries resulting from DP surveys and block boundaries digitised from 1:2500 or 1:25000 maps. Each block has an associated accuracy attribute which indicates what the souurce of the data was.
Positional accuracy:
All data is held in ACT Co-ordinates which are planar co-ordinates based on a false origin at Mt Stromlo of 200000/600000. These co-ordinates can be converted into other formats if required. Positional accuracy of these blocks is reported by attribute. Digitised data will report an accuracy of 10m while data fron DP's will report an accuracy of 1cm.
Attribute accuracy:
This database has attribution showing time / date of creation or modification of each entity in the database. All entities will have at least an attribute of 1 July 1994 (the date of initial use of this attribute). Dates after this will indicate the actual time and date of creation of the entity in the database.
Logical Consistency:
The data is run through a suite of data checking and verification programs before being loaded into the database. These programs check cleanness, completeness, presence of appropriate attributes and a number of other paramaters. The database is not topologically structured
Completeness:
100% complete with updates on a daily basis
