Access constraints:
ACTMAP datasets are available to non ACT Government agencies and the private sector on a fee basis. Details of costs can be obtained by phoning the contact numbers.
Lineage:
In urban areas road centrelines and connections come from survey calculation based on the cadastre. Street names a re allocated by this department and added to the database at time of gazettal Kerb and carpark data is collected from a variety of sources including field survey and digitised from airial photography and is not guaranteed to any degree of accuracy
Positional accuracy:
All data is held in ACT Co-ordinates which are planar co-ordinates based on a false origin at Mt Stromlo of 200000/600000. These co-ordinates can be converted into other formats if required. All data has an accuracy attribute associated with it.
Attribute accuracy:
This database has attribution showing time / date of creation or modification of each entity in the database. All entities will have at least an attribute of 1 July 1994 (the date of initial use of this attribute). Dates after this will indicate the actual time and date of creation of the entity in the database. This database also has attributes for Accuracy and Road name.
Logical Consistency:
All data is run through a suite of data verification programs prior to entry into the database. Cleaness of linework, positional accuracy and the presence of the required attributes is verified by these programs.
Completeness:
The database is 100% complete with the exception of kerb and carpark details where an ongoing capture and checking process is under way using scanned air photos to verify or complete existing data.
