Abstract:
One of a series of spatial databases covering the Australian Capital Territory. This database contains the names of buildings and features of interest in the ACT. Commercial names are not used - motels are simply labeled MOTEL not Canberra Hilton etc. The feature names are spatially referenced to the cadastral feature they apply to.

Access constraints:
ACTMAP Data sets are available to non ACT Government agencies and to the private sector on a fee basis. Details are available from the contact numbers. There are no restrictions on who can access this database.
Lineage:
Data was originally derived from textual databases of feature names and is updated as new information becomes available. New development areas are regularly field checked.
Positional accuracy:
All data is held in ACT Co-ordinates which are planar co-ordinates based on a false origin at Mt Stromlo of 200000/600000. These co-ordinates can be converted into other formats if required. The feature names are spatially referenced to the cadastral or geographic feature they apply to.
Attribute accuracy:
The attributes associated with this database are for time date stamping of creation and modification of the data. All entities in the database will have at least a time date stamp of 1 July 1994 (the date at which this attribute was introduced) or a date after that will indicate a subsequent data capture date.
Logical Consistency:
All data was checked at time of input and regular field checking and community feedback from cartographic products are used to maintain the currency of the data. The data is not topologically structured
Completeness:
The data is complete within the requirements of the ACT government.
