Lineage:
Information of offences is recieved from either letters, telephone complaints or information reports. The information is then entered into the database by compliance staff.
Positional accuracy:
Positional accuracy is based on the expert knowledge of the ranger or compliance staff who reported the offence, and also if available a grid reference or street address of the location. In the future grid references of offence locations will be mandatory to ensure high accuracy.
Attribute accuracy:
Pull-down menus are used in location/suburb, vehicle, ranger, officer handling, offender's name and agency/station source information fields to ensure data entry uniformity and data integrity.
Logical Consistency:
Information in the database is verified through visual checks from hard copy information reports of the offences.
Completeness:
Completeness of the information of offences may not always be possible, but extensive descriptions within certain fields usually overcome this problem.
