Abstract:
This dataset shows the ACT sportsgrounds managed by Canberra Urban Parks and Places (CUPP). It includes enclosed ovals, district playing fields, neighbourhood ovals and informal use ovals. CUPP is responsible for the management of Canberra's urban parks, sportsgrounds, lakes (excluding Lake Burley Griffin), public pools, public trees, and suburban precincts. This network of urban open space and places creates the attractive scenic setting of the city that is highly valued by the Canberra community.

This dataset was derived from cadastral information (supplied by ACTPLA) and kerbline data (Roads ACT).
Positional accuracy:
This is a composite dataset and its accuracy is dependent on that of the cadastral and kerbline datasets
Attribute accuracy:
The values of the urban open space attribute (Asset_code) were defined by the Asset Managers within CUPP. The dataset has been used as part of the Horticultural Maintenance contracts for the past four years and refined extensively. The accuracy of this dataset would be greater than 95%.
Logical Consistency:
The dataset is logically consistent. The coverage has polygon topology, with no dangles or undershoots.
Completeness:
Complete. As new sportsgrounds are constructed and handed over to CUPP to manage they are added to this dataset.
