Abstract:
This data set description covers satellite imagery which was captured by the SPOT 2 satellite operated by the Centre National d'Etudes Spatiales (CNES) which holds the copyright to the data. The imagery was acquired to assist in the recovery after the bushfires which swept through the area in January 2003. The single scene was acquired on 7 February 2003.

Access constraints:
The copyright for SPOT imagery is held by Centre National d'Etudes Spatiales (CNES). The license to these scenes is for internal use by all agencies of the ACT Government, ACTEWAGL, and Geoscience Australia within the scope of the CITIES Project.
Lineage:
SPOT 2 HRV XS imagery was acquired by the Centre National d'Etudes Spatiales through ACRES. Cloud cover was assessed as 0% although there are bushfire smoke plumes evident on the southern part of the image. ACRES then orthocorrected the image and supplied it through Raytheon Australia Pty Ltd.
Positional accuracy:
SPOT 2 multispectral imagery has a resolution of 20m. An ACRES digital quality assessment was provided with the image. Based on the lineage of the orthocorrected imagery, the resulting products are likely to have an accuracy of about 3 to 4 pixels.
