Title: DUS Corporate Geographic Database - Land Use Community facilities
Custodian: ACT Government, Department of Urban Services, Customer Service and Information, Information Management Branch
Jurisdiction: Australian Capital Territory
Abstract:
ACTPLA is the authoritative source custodian of a Community Facilities data for the Australian Capital Territory. The land use community facilities layer for the ACT Department of Urban Services Corporate Geographic Database (DUS CGD) contains a modified version of the Community Facilities data (ANZAC0236001057) sourced from the ACTPLA Spatial Database Management System (SDMS). This Community Facilities layer has been created to specification under the DUS GIM Strategy and is included in the DUS CGD created under that strategy. The DUS CGD creates a fully homogeneous and integrated set of core geographic information which uses Oracle SDO. The CGD is a read only Oracle spatial database hosted within the ACT Government's production computing environment and is capable of being directly read by most GIS software. The CGD stores data in both the ACT Stromlo Projection and MGA94 projection for Zone55. This data set includes the following attributes: Community_Facility_Block_ID (a persistent identifier), Community_Facility_Id, Block_Id, Feature_Name_ID, Name, Complex_Description, Complex_Type_Code, Complex_Type_Text, Sector_Code, Sector_Text, Facility_Type_Code, Facility_Type_Text, ANZLIC_ID, Source_ANZLIC_ID, Feature_Type_Code, Create_Date, Area and Feature_Instance_Metadata_ID.

Access constraints:
This dataset has been classified as Community Access by ACTPLA, the custodian of the SDMS Land Complex and Community Facility tables. See Lineage below. Community access data sets in the DUS CGD database are available for internal use by agencies in the ACT Government, including presentation through ACT Government web sites. Uses beyond this require prior approval by the custodians of both the authoritative source data (ACTLIC), and Department of Urban Services.
Lineage:
The CGD Community_Facility_Block table has been created from data sourced from the LAND_COMPLEX and COMMUNITY_FACILITY tables in the ACTPLA PALM Database (PALMdb). The original data was exported from PALMdb (Oracle 8.1.7) This was then imported into two translation tables in the CGD Logical structure to enable some of the original attributes to be removed and verification checks to be performed. Some sensitive records were deleted at this stage. The result was then converted to the CGD structure by joining the two tables with the spatial Block table to form the final Community_Facility_Block table. Contact the DUS IM Branch for further information on this process.
Positional accuracy:
This data is based on the Block table and has the same spatial accuracy as this table. Please refer to ANZAC0236001012.
Attribute accuracy:
The data provided by ACTPLA is not in regular maintenance in the system access for updating the Corporate Geographic Database. As a result the attribute accuracy may be low for a number of records.
Logical Consistency:
Reference should be made to the Block table in the Corporate Geographic Database. See ANZAC0236001012.
Completeness:
This data set in currently not being maintained and it should be used as indicative of the existance and type of community facilities only. Steps are being taken by the custodian to update the source data set so this completeness status may change regularly. NOTE: The attributes of Source_ANZLIC_ID, Feature_Type_Code and Feature_Instance_Metadata_ID have not been populated.
