Title: DUS Corporate Geographic Database - Cadastral Tenure Layer

Custodian

Custodian: ACT Government, Department of Urban Services, Customer Service and Information, Information Management Branch

Jurisdiction: Australian Capital Territory

Description

Abstract:

ACTPLA is the authoritative source custodian of a Digital Cadastral Database for the Australian Capital Territory. The cadastral tenure layer for the ACT Department of Urban Services Corporate Geographic Database (DUS CGD) contains a modified version of data from the authoritative Real_Estate and Tenure aspatial tables sourced from the ACTPLA Spatial Database Management System (SDMS). The Tenure layer has been created to specification under the DUS GIM Strategy and is included in the DUS CGD created under that strategy. This version is restricted to current leases. This version does not include tenures identified by ACTPLA as Agistments (refer ANZAC0236001058 for this information) and unleased ACT Land. The DUS CGD creates a fully homogeneous and integrated set of core geographic information which uses the Oracel SDO. The CGD is a read only Oracle spatial database hosted within the ACT Government's production computing environment and is capable of being directly read by most GIS software. The CGD stores data in both the ACT Stromlo Projection and MGA94 projection for Zone55. This data set includes the following attributes: Real_Estate_ID (a persistent identifier), Tenure_ID, Block_ID, Tenure_No, Expiry_Date_Due, Grant_Date, Commencement_Date, Tenure_Code, Tenure_Text, Term_Month, Term_Year, Unit, Termination_Date, Termination_Code, Termination_Text, X_Units_Plan_No, Units_Plan_No, ANZLIC_ID, Source_ANZLIC_ID, Feature_Type_Code, Create_Date, Area and Attribute_Instance_Metadata_ID. Information on the purpose of the leases identifiable through the Tenure layer is stored in a separate table called Lease_Purpose. This is linked to the Tenure table through the attribute Tenure_No. The attributes in this table are: Lease_Purpose_Id (a persistent identifier), Tenure_No, Lease_Purpose_Code, Lease_Purpose_Text, Start_date, ANZLIC_ID, Source_ANZLIC_ID, Feature_Type_Code, Create_Date, Feature_Instance_Metadata_Id.

Access

Stored data format:
Digital: Oracle Spatial 9.2 using SDO with homogeneous spatial objects. Two versions exist, one in ACT Stromlo projection and one in MGA94 projection for Zone 55.
Available format type:
Digital: Direct read of Oracle spatial by common GIS software.
Digital: Any format capable of being translated by Safe Software's FME software
Digital: Oracle Spatial 9.2 export

Access constraints:

This dataset has been classified as 'Community Access' by ACTPLA, the custodian of the SDMS Real_Estate and Tenure tables. See Lineage below. Community access data sets in the DUS CGD database are available for internal use by agencies in the ACT Government, including presentation through ACT Government web sites. Uses beyond this require prior approval by the custodians of both the authoritative source data (ACTLIC), and Department of Urban Services.

Data quality

Lineage:

The CGD Tenure table has been created from data sourced from a combination of the aspatial Real_Estate and Tenure tables from the source custodian's systems with the spatial Block table in the Corporate Geographic Database (CGD). Reference should be made to the metadata record ANZAC0236001012 for details about the lineage of the Block table. Contact the DUS IM Branch for further information on these processes.

Positional accuracy:

Reference should be made to the metadata record ANZAC0236001012 for details about the accuracy of the geometry in the Block table.

Attribute accuracy:

Reference should be made to the source custodian (ACTPLA) for information on the attribute accuracy.

Logical Consistency:

Reference should be made to the metadata record ANZAC0236001012 for details about the logical consistency of the Block table.

Completeness:

The data provided by the source custodian is managed and maintained in a rigorous manner and is in a constant state of update. The latest version of this data is used for each update. NOTE: The attributes of Source_ANZLIC_ID, Feature_Type_Code and Feature_Attribute_Metadata_ID have not been populated.
